INTERFAITH CONSULTANT

From September 2006 to May 2008, we supported the work of an experienced consultant, Revd Dr Israel Selvanayagam, who encouraged people across the West Midlands to understand our diverse society. Through workshops, study groups and conferences, the issues of understanding and relating to people of all faith communities were explored.

Some of the work implemented included a 10-session Bible study programme, entitled "Re-reading the Bible in a Multifaith Context", the formation of a network of Christian Practitioners of Interfaith Dialogue and association with local Interfaith groups such as the newly formed Faith Encounter Project.

Now that Dr Selvanayagam has moved on, we are exploring avenues for a new appointment to continue developing this work.  Prayer for this would be much appreciated.
